[Solved] cPanel Mailbox Running Out Of Space/Getting Filled! What To Do?

If you are on a Shared Hosting Account using cPanel as your Server Management Tool and use its' Web Mail feature, then often you might have landed into this precarious situation where you find yourself running out of Mailbox space after a certain period of time. That's if you begin to get loads of message running into thousands! And once your mailbox is filled your mail starts bouncing and the only option that remains with you is either to backup your mails in your local computer or delete some of your old mails. But again a time comes where you find yourself ---- back to square one with your mailbox filled!!! Also may be you would not want to delete all your mails and like to keep all/some of your mails with you.

So, today I finally have found an easy work around which will cost you not a single dime, save your lots of worry and precious time.

To achieve this we will use Gmail's variety of features and it's better you create an unique Gmail id for the email account you are trying to create a backup.I am sure the same can be done using Hotmail/Outlook and may be even Yahoo.

These handy features of Gmail will allow us to:
  1. Import all our mails from our Remote Server to it's inbox retaining all the originals in the Hosting Server (provided you select the option to retain all message in the web host, while configuring Gmail.)
  2.  Create an 'alias' to the above Email Account in Gmail so that you can reply from your Gmail account as though you were using the above Email Account.
  3. Create an automatic forwarder in the Web Host so that all the mails get automatically forwarded to your Gmail (This is optional --- read below to know why.)

    Out of personal experience I know this is a better choice than storing your mails in your local computer because if your computer happens to crash or experience data loss you will have no worry whatsoever about loosing your mails as all your mails will be in the Gmail Server.
Step 1:  Importing the Emails from Web Host to your Gmail Account

As in the above figure first click on Settings

Click on Accounts & Imports

Click on Import mail and contacts a Window as below will pop out.

phpMyAdmin: Bypass File Upload Size Limit

When you want to import a large SQL query in phpMyAdmin, you can run into problems as the default upload size limit is restricted by whatever it is in the php.ini file - and often, you cannot change this or simply don't want to. It tends to default to a measly 2MB.
However, there's a feature that will allow you to FTP your SQL file to an upload directory of your choosing, and then instruct phpMyAdmin to run the query file. Here's how you do it.

Learn To Become a Better Visual Web Designer then a Developer

Well this title isn't the thumb rule, but if you are in the Web business like the way I am, then this certainly holds true for you.

My own experience is that the general client is least bothered about how strong a website you might have build in terms of programs and web-software, but unless your website is visually appealing, they don't care about your inner-development. Now, that doesn't mean you develop a lousy website which is just visually appealing! But if your website is strong in terms of the programs and also graphically chic, it holds a lot of value for your product.

As, I am writing this blog-post, today I read in the news today that Slideshare has been bought by Linkedin for about $119 million. And as I started exploring about the team members and person involved with Slideshare I came across this wonderful line from the CEO of Slideshare, Rashmi Sinha. It read:

"Good software comes from a true collaboration between developers and designers." You can read more at: http://rashmisinha.com/about/

& I fully agree with her.

Here's a video you might have a look at which conveys the same with wonderful reasonings:

Shortest, Fastest, Quickest Way to Check Your IP Address

This by far has been the shortest, quickest, fastest way to check my IP address and I just discovered it today.

Go to www.google.com and type this query ==> "check my ip" and see what happens. The first result you get should be your IP address, something like this ==> "Your public IP address is 100.141.09.555". To know more about IP address here's what Google says, "IP Address"

Changing The Color Of Your Links

Suppose you would like to change the color of your links and the Formatting options of blogger isn't working; you can make use of this code:

Here's your basic link:

http://www.blogger.com">Google Blogger

Typically you would have a style:
 a:link {
  color: #008000;
 }

The text and underline would be green.

I am wrapping the following examples, they would normally be on one
line.

If you try to change the color like this:

  http://www.blogger.com">Google Blogger

The link will not change to yellow. a:link will still be in control.

If you change it to:
  http://www.blogger.com">
  Google Blogger

The attribute will change the text to yellow, but the underline will
remain green.

If you change it to:
  http://www.blogger.com">
  Google Blogger
'style' will take control and both the text and underline will be
yellow.
